Pakistani-Style Spiced Fried Fish with Chaat Masala

Method

    Mix the gram flour, cumin, chilli powder, turmeric, garlic, ginger and lemon juice into a thick paste and coat the fish fillet all over.

    Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat and fry the fish for 3–4 minutes per side until crisp and cooked through.

    Sprinkle with the chaat masala as soon as it comes out of the pan.

    Taste and adjust the seasoning.

    Serve with the sliced red onion and a scatter of fresh coriander.
