Teriyaki Salmon with Sesame Greens
A single portion of Japanese cooking, ready in 14 minutes with 4 minutes of prep. Written for one, so there is nothing to halve and nothing to waste.
Method
- 1
Cook the rice according to the packet instructions.
- 2
Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry the salmon skin-side down for 4 minutes, then flip and cook for 2 minutes more.
- 3
Pour the teriyaki sauce into the pan and let it bubble for 1–2 minutes, spooning it over the salmon until glossy.
- 4
Meanwhile, steam or blanch the greens for 3–4 minutes until just tender.
- 5
Taste and adjust the seasoning.
- 6
Serve the salmon and its glaze over the rice with the greens, scattered with sesame seeds.
