Method

    Marinate the beef in the soy sauce, lime juice, garlic and sugar for 5 minutes.

    Heat half the oil in a pan and fry the extra garlic until golden, then stir through the rice until fragrant. Set aside.

    Wipe the pan, heat the rest of the oil until very hot, and fry the beef for 1–2 minutes each side until well browned.

    In the same pan, fry the egg to your liking.

    Taste and adjust the seasoning.

    Plate the garlic rice, beef and fried egg together with the sliced tomato.
